Co-teachers

Introduction:
Helen Moore and Sherrie Coleman are co-teachers for Special Education classroom for Moderate to Server handicap students. We have six preschool students, and hey have limited communication skills. So we decided to create a blog site for parents and students to accuses for home

Purpose:
The purpose of the project is to get an overview about using the Apple computer or PC.
Also learn more about MP3, and iPod mobile devices for special education classroom. The goal is to create a blog site for parents and students can access from their home computer or handheld mobile devices. This blog site is designed for parents and students to access homework, announcements and the video on the blog site will give an overview and instructions on homework.

Literature Review:
The research literature collected examines several issues first is using an Apple/Mac or PC/Microsoft computer and software applications. Next, information about MP3, and iPods/ iPhones mobile devices. Last, is how podcasting for alternative teaching and learning for preschool students and students with special needs. The article talks about exploring the Web 2.0 tools for teachers, and how they can create their first podcasting, and content about Apple/Mac, verses PC/Windows and audacity or garageband, and syndicate to your audience. Evermore, the usage of mobile devices like, iPod, other MP3 devices or computer for audio posting or podcasting. One article reports on the increasing usages of podcasting for education and how MP3/MP4 devices can be used for more than music or video entertainment, and how these devices can be used as an educational tools, materials and library services.
Another article gives a brief overview of podcasting, and how it can support traditional teaching and applications for multimedia technology to help support early literacy. The article also, talks about evaluating software programs and variations of recorded books and stories for alternative learning and how audio and video recording can be utilized for schools and libraries services. Another article emphasized on meeting the needs of children with disabilities and children who are acquiring a second language about creating your first pod casting, software applications and any equipment that’s needed. The collective information defines podcasting as a tool for students and teachers to engage in learning with technology.
And that schools and public libraries can benefit by using podcasting to promote school announcements, library services and programs and others. Also how programs such as Microsoft’s Anytime Anywhere Learning has prospects on developing wireless mobile learning systems for future classroom learning.
And the term Mobile Learning is redefined to e-learning and m-learning focuses on the functional, components and communication style of learning. That’s characterized as an e-learning mobile device and wireless transmission. This type of learning is typically used by most computer scientists whose interests focus on building functional system connecting devices with wireless networks. The review identifies seven dimensions of online success with MP3 music, MP4-video players, iPods, cell phone and the iPhone. More and more people are using mobile devices for the news, entertainment, sports, culture interested and with these mobile devices they are able to stay in tuned to current events all day. Hand held media devise and communications technologies are becoming increasingly composite interfaces, combining the functionality of standard telephone, text based interaction, e-mails, internet browsing, digital-video, cameras, PDA’s, MP3 players and games consoles.
The review also talks about the complex interactions between tutors and preschool children who utilized computers during early literacy years. Through this research it was discovered that for a while older children can benefit from non-interference from adults or teachers while working with computer applications however younger children need human support to acquire complex skills.

Conclusion:
Overall, the research that we collected helped us to understand the difference between using the Apple computer verses the PC. We decided to use the PC Microsoft application, and we used a hand held mobile device to create the classroom blog site video. We also collected date to support the usage of podcating in the classroom for early learners and students with special needs. The articles selected support our purpose of the project which was to create a blog site video recorder for parents and students to access.
